Just call me master...

I'm going to go ahead and brag a little here because I was partially awesome today!

I'll spare you gross details but it involved a just drifted sleeping toddler and a dirty diaper and ended in a still sleeping and fresh diapered toddler! Ya I know totally awesome!

Now on to the good stuff. Food! I try to be conscience of what we are eating and try not to feed much junk but lets face it sometimes junk makes all the difference. Now I'm not sure how to classify tonight's awesome supper besides out of the park home run!!! Cilantro Lime Chicken is what was on the agenda, however this beef raising family was fresh out of chicken so I used hamburger and made it Cilantro Lime Taco's and let me tell you yum yum yum! It smelt so good the rancher stayed home from basketball... Almost. :)

Cilantro Lime Tacos

1 lb hamburger
1 lime juiced and smooshed inners
A couple hand fulls of cilantro
1/3 taco seasoning packet
Chopped onion (I just chop until I think it's enough)
1-2 tbs of sugar
1 tsp garlic powder

Brown hamburger, season, use food processor to blend cilantro and lime, added that to hamburger. And tada!

To make the meal complete make homemade guacamole and slice up some tomatoes.

For the guacamole I only had one and added 4-5 cloves I pressed garlic and a couple dashes of salt to taste. I used the stir option on my food processor and it worked great.

I served in a bowl with crunched up chips, sour cream, guacamole and my moms kick butt salsa. On my second bowl ;) I used tostitos pineapple mango salsa which I highly recommend as well! :)

I didn't take a picture until after but seriously give this a try it is soooo yummy!

There was some not so awesome parts to my day including income tax prep and an uncooperative washing machine. But I'll focus on the positives for today!

Have a great week everyone! And let me know if/when you try this awesome meal!

...New Year Resolutions...

It seems to me that there are a lot of people who make New Year resolutions. I for one have never really got into it much at all, maybe a little one here or there. Mainly because I don't like failure, I mean who does.  But this year my Rancher and I made one "Get Sh** Done" Pretty broad, but that's just my style, surely we can't mess that one up right? Make it up as you go along, so far my list is pretty long and time consuming, but I'm hopeful I'll stick to it!

And besides that, my only other option for a resolution was to give up sarcasm. "If I were to give up sarcasm, that'd leave interpretive dance as my only means of communicating." Let's face it, no one wants that!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Oh yeah, (insert picture here)

..Soul Food Friday.. on the wrong Friday..

Ok I'm a little late at the soul food Friday link up with Jen, i'm a rebel like that. But here you go.

What feeds my soul? The moments in life where you're having too much fun to stop and take pictures. Remember the Brad Paisley song who needs pictures? " who needs pictures with a memory like mine..."  Let me just paint you a picture of our awesome weekend.

Sleeping in until 10:30! Now I usually don't like to sleep in much past 8 but after going two years with out a full nights sleep between being pregnant an then the non-sleeping lil rancher. I induldged and slept lots of family time at the farm including a combine ride during milo harvest checking first calf heifers on grass and a nap in the pickup for the little rancher. On Sunday followed, church, quick lunch, and a bummer turned around to an awesome afternoon with friends.  We got moved to a new field to try and finish up milo harvest, but the test cut was too wet, so that ment an afternoon off of work for my rancher.  We enjoy a couple beverages, picked some fresh apples, looked at horses and cattle and had good company and conversation in BEAUTIFUL weather!!! It doesn't get much better for a fall day folks!

Cheers to many more days and weekends like this one...

* Ok so I've been preoccupied and have let this sit for awhile. So when I said this weekend... I really ment like a month ago when it was still Fall and not almost winter and Thanksgiving... oh well it was still wonderful and i'm really looking forward to the next one!

Happy Friday Everyone!

For The Love Of Fall!

Because it's my favorite season...

I'm dedicating...

This first post of October...

To the season of fall...

Some call it autumn, but it's fall.

My Top Fav's of Fall

1. It's softball season.  Point. blank.  I am immediately brought back to high school softball on a brisk fall morning especially in October, because that means it's the POST SEASON! Summer softball is fun, but it's nothing compared to fall ball!

2. It's Football season.  Point blank on that one too.

3. It's sweatshirt season. Nothing better than beating the heat all summer to FINALLY being able to put on your jeans and sweatshirts. Ah!!!

4. Hot Chocolate and Hot Tea.  I'm absolutely not a coffee drinker, never have been, never will be. So when it is chilly enough for me to embrace the warmth of hot chocolate or tea in a coffee mug I totally dig it and can see why people drink coffee...... HA! Just kidding on that last part. Gag-A-Mag!

5. The colors. There is something to be said about the colors of the sunsets and sunrises beautiful!!! Add in the turning leaves and you have heaven on earth!

6. Fall Harvest.  There is also something to be said about fall harvest.  Harvest in general is a very busy and on a slight time crunch.  But with fall harvest it is much "bigger" (for lack of better phrasing) In other words we have two crops to harvest in the fall which is more than the one wheat crop during summer harvest. Ya still following? No? Yeah me neither!  I just like fall harvest okay? Okay!

7. It's not summer.  So I like summer and all, but it's no fall, and fall's not summer. Comprehende'? Fall is also not winter. I'm usually not ready for winter right after we have a hot summer, so it's great that we get fall to ease into winter. Okay, i'm glad we had this talk!

7a. Because 7 is my favorite number i'm stopping there folks. Sorry.

7b. Pumpkin patches!

Life Of A Ranch ..... #6

Life Of A Ranch Cowboy's Wife Daughter #1/6

He taught me how to rope and ride and how to be a tough ol' cowboy/girl... He gave up on teaching me how to rope and well, I don't blame him.  Now it's time for him to teach my boy how to rope, ride and how to be a tough ol' cowboy.
Here are some of the teaching that took place this spring and summer.

"haya! haya!"

Face off with the hereford.

"Grandpa, this is how it's done"
"always count them in and out of the pen"
Pre-ride pep talk.

OK, so ignore pretty much everything in this picture.
1. How ugly this picture makes the horse look because he really doesn't look that bad.
2. The fact that Cooper is screaming and wanting down.

Just notice that they are all three together. :)

Rain Is A Good Thing!

Last night we got a very pretty rain! What more to do than go out and play!!!
And the best thing? It's still raining lightly!

Since we live in town and have no dirt roads to go splash through puddles, I'm thankful that all the water from our block runs into our driveway. I think our HUGE evergreen enjoys it about as much as Cooper.

I haven't uploaded the pictures from my camera to the computer yet, so here are some "unique" pictures AKA taken with my iPhone of my camera's display...

Life's Short, Dance In The Rain!
